Today we have learnt that digital:works has received funding from The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for an exciting new project: Fares Please! - An Oral History of London Bus Workers.

Working alongside Westminster Archives and the London Transport Museum, two London primary schools will be supported by digital:works to carry out a packed programme of learning through research, museum visits, training and drama; they will be meeting, interviewing and filming current and retired bus workers to create a documentary film, exhibition and booklet of historical and creative writing.

Learning materials from the project will be developed and piloted in local schools and then made freely available to all schools.

The children will be aided by volunteers to keep this blog updated throughout the project where most of the fun will take place throughout May, June and July 2016 so keep coming back to take a look.

The website has more information and will include the writing, full interviews and the finished film as and when it happens.
